Use of ICT as the preferred choice of medium for creating, building and maintaining innovative, reliable cost effective systems and communication networks towards meeting the objectives of the County Government.

 

Mission

To be the provider of ICT strategies and services which deliver long term economic and social benefits within the County

 

MANDATE

The ICT and E-Government Department has two units; ICT and Corporate Communication whose mandates are highlighted below:

• Developing and implementing ICT policy guidelines, Strategies and Project plans for the County.
• Providing technical and operational support for systems and infrastructure including networks, websites, email systems, databases and applications.
• Provision of advisory services on acquisition and operation of ICT and Telecommunication services and Equipment to County Government Departments.
• Provision of Public Relations and media relations services.
• Capacity building through training of County Government employees on the use of ICT.
• Dissemination of information on County Governments operations.
• Marketing the County as a Key destination for Tourists and Investors.
•  Development of County Communication capacity and Infrastructure.
• Setting up of a resource center for documentation and broadcasting.

 

ROLES OF ICT AND E-GOVERNMENT.

•  Support ICT development, Investments and Applications/Use.
•  Ensure access to affordable ICT within the County.
•  Harness ICT for efficient and effective County Governance, Economic growth and job creation for the youth.
•  Translate ICT into programs that add value to the education system, agricultural sector, health sector, business and Finance, Governance, Leadership and ultimately achieve the overall goal of driving economic growth.
•  Strengthen partnerships and linkages.
•  Streamline corporate communication and information flow for mutual understanding with relevant stakeholders.
• Brand the County as a United, Prosperous County whose Social Economic and Political development benefits are equitably distributed
