Description

Kajiado county has a very condusive environment for companies to set up manufacturing and processing pants. This is due to availability of expansive land, underground water resources, raw materials and affordable labour force.

EXISTING AND OPERATIONAL MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES

There are many different industries and manufacturing companies in Kajiado County:

 MAGADI SODA

The Madagi Soda Company manufactures soda ash at the Kenyan town of Magadi, which is in southwestern Kenya. It is the largest manufacturer of soda ash in Africa. The company was founded in 1911 and mines trona from Lake Magadi, in the Rift Valley. Lake Magadi has one of the purest surface deposits of trona. The trona is converted by Magadi to soda ash, at a facility near the mining operations, and the soda ash is transported by rail to Mombasa for onward shipping.

Magadi is a subsidiary of Brunner Mond, Imperial Chemical Industries, and of Tata Chemicals, and is headquartered in Magadi, Kajiado County, Kenya

This is a production plant located near Isinya along the Nairobi- Namanga highway that produces domestic animal feeds

This is a Liquefied Petroleum Gas Cylinder Manufacturer and Revalidator located near Kitengela along Kitengela Namanga highway. Their main aim is to manufacture and re-validate LPG cylinders at least cost operations basis

 KITENGELA GLASS

Kitengela Glass is located opposite the Nairobi National Park, Kajiado County. Sculptures, animals and secret mosaic pathways are used  by artisans to transform recycled glass and scraps of other materials into beautiful artworks, jewelry and home ware. It started in the late 1970’s and has grown to employ about 50 workers who are part of the beautiful art work displayed round the place and in many other countries abroad.
