Education Sector Education is the background to all the other sectors since it is the outlet of skills and knowledge. The education sector in the county was dwindling from the marginalization of the central government. In the new dispensation the county is endowed with the responsibility of Early childhood education and Vocational training. The government has established several youth polytechnics and ECDE centers for the kids.
The government has also introduced a bursary and scholarships fund for the bright and needy students since most of the families cannot afford secondary and tertiary education due to abject poverty in the region. For the last two financial years the government pumped a tune of US $1500000 into the noble pool. We are therefore seeking for donors and grants for the bursary scheme and training equipment and facilitation for the youth training vocational centers.
The objective of West Pokot is to create a platform for informed decision making; create an environment for robust economic development; building social cohesion and further ensuring that within the county we realize our vision of working together in development and growth. The Plan contains programmes and projects designed with great consideration to promoting equitable distribution of resources within our county
Through established relationships founded in goodwill and sacrifice , West Pokot is open for business and appeals to investors, partners and donors in one accord to join us in expanding our trade and commerce into largest economies in the world.
