Description

Introduction

Many of the market centers of Kiambu County are connected to the national grid line, but there has been the encouragement to use renewable energy in the county in recent times. This is known to save the environment for sustainable development in the Post Millenium Development Goals era. In a bid to boost energy there has been commissioning of a power station in Witeithie near Thika Town with the capacity of 87 MW of Thermal power.

This would ensure reliability of power in industries around this area which is ideal for industry development. In addition, the County Government has invested in the water sub sector by ensuring piped clean water into many homesteads for domestic and commercial use.
