MEET THE OWNERS
Mr. Kaba and Fanta, owners of Le Mandingue, are not only trailblazers in the restaurant industry, but are also philanthropists in the African community here and back home. Before Fanta arrived at becoming the owner of one of the world’s most successful African restaurants, she faced many obstacles during her journey. Fanta not only came to America as a war victim of Liberia, but she is also an amputee who lost her leg due to a serious car accident. After her accident, tables turned for her, but her favor from God has never changed. In the African community, being an amputee is very rare. At times, Fanta was made to feel like an outcast. However, she kept pushing to follow her dreams to open the infamous Le Mandingue restaurant.
She is an inspiration to African women, people with disabilities, mothers, and small business owners. She takes pride in her five children and her hardworking husband, who has been her backbone throughout her journey. She truly admires her husband because he has never allowed her physical state to interfere with their love. Fanta is a walking model of perseverance.
